Where is my data stored?

Only on your phone. There is no account and no server, and the app works without an internet connection. See the privacy policy.

What happens if I lose my phone or delete the app?

Vibe Days keeps no copy of its own, so the data on that phone is lost with it, unless you exported a backup: then you can restore it on your new phone. If your phone's system backup (iCloud on iPhone or Google backup on Android) included the app's data, a copy may remain there. See Your phone's own backups in the privacy policy.

Can I move my data to a new phone?

Yes. On your old phone, go to Settings, then Backup and restore, choose a passphrase and tap Export backup. Save the file somewhere you can reach from the new phone, like your cloud drive or an email to yourself. On the new phone, tap Restore from backup on the first screen, or later in Settings, Backup and restore, then choose the file and enter the passphrase.

What if Vibe Days already has data when I restore?

You choose: Replace deletes what you've logged in Vibe Days, then restores the backup. Merge adds the backup to what you have. The app tells you whether anything overlaps, and if it does, you choose once for all of it: keep what you have, or use the backup. If restoring fails, nothing is changed.

I forgot my backup passphrase. Can you recover it?

No. The backup is encrypted on your phone with your passphrase, and we never see either, so nobody can open it without the passphrase. If you added a hint when you made the backup, the app shows it when you restore.

The app says "Wrong passphrase, or the file was changed."

Check the passphrase, including capital letters and spaces. The encryption can't tell a wrong passphrase from a damaged file, so if you're sure it's right, try another copy of the backup.

How can I share my history with my doctor?

Go to Settings, then Backup and restore, and tap Export spreadsheet. You get an Excel file with one row per day, including hot flashes, night sweats, sleep and medications, which opens in Excel, Google Sheets or Numbers. It isn't encrypted, so share it only with people you trust.

How are my next periods predicted?

The app takes your last logged period start and adds your average cycle length. It shows a range of days rather than one date: the more your cycles vary, the wider the range. Until you have logged a few cycles, it uses the cycle and period length you entered at the start, or 28 and 5 days.

Why does the app say my cycles look unusual?

Cycles shorter than 18 days or longer than 45 days are left out of the predictions, since they often come from a period that wasn't logged. When this happens, the app tells you that predictions might not be reliable. Check the Periods tab for a period that's missing or has the wrong dates. If your cycles are often long or irregular, for example in perimenopause, turn on My cycles are irregular in Settings, under Predictions: then cycles of up to 90 days count.

Does Vibe Days work for perimenopause or irregular cycles?

Yes. In Settings, under Predictions, turn on My cycles are irregular; you can also choose it when you first set up the app. It's meant for perimenopause, or after stopping the pill: cycles of up to 90 days then count for predictions and stats, predictions show a wider range of days, and Today doesn't ask whether you forgot to log a period. If your cycles vary a lot, Today suggests turning it on once.

In the daily log you can also note hot flashes and night sweats (how many), sleep (how long and how well), symptoms like brain fog, joint or muscle pain, palpitations or vaginal dryness, and moods like mood swings.

The app won't tell you whether you're in perimenopause; a doctor can help with that. And it's still not birth control: pregnancy is possible in perimenopause, even when periods are irregular.

How many cycles are the predictions based on?

The last 6 by default. You can choose between 3 and 12 in Settings under Cycles used for predictions. Fewer cycles follow recent changes faster; more cycles give steadier predictions.

What reminders can I set?

Go to Settings, then Reminders. There are three ready-made ones: Period expected (a few days before your predicted period), Daily check-in, and Did your period start?, which comes once when your predicted period is late and no start has been logged. With Add reminder you can make your own: tied to your cycle, or on a schedule of your own, for example to take a medication.

Can a reminder follow when my period actually starts or ends?

Yes, that's what your own reminders are for. Under When, choose one of:

  • After period start: on a day after the start you logged, for example "on day 10 after period start". The start day is day 1, so day 10 is nine days later.
  • After period end: on a day after the end you logged, for example "on day 5 after period end".
  • Before predicted period start: a number of days before the first day your next period is expected.

Reminders after the start or end wait until you log it; they never go by a prediction. If you log a start a few days late, the days already past are skipped rather than sent late. Reminders before the predicted start move whenever the prediction changes.

Can a reminder repeat, or come only once?

Turn on Repeat to get it every few days for a while, counted from the first one: "on day 5 after period end, every 2 days for 7 days" comes on days 5, 7, 9 and 11. Under How often, choose Every cycle, or This cycle only for a one-off, like a doctor's appointment. While you set it up, the app shows the next dates it will come on.

Can I note the medications and supplements I take?

Yes. Go to Settings, then Medications, and add your own, like "HRT gel" or "Magnesium". They then show up in the daily log: tap one to note that you took it that day. When you stop taking something, turn off In use: it leaves the daily log but stays on the days you took it. The app doesn't suggest anything or tell you what to take.

Can I get a reminder to take my medication?

Yes. Open the medication in Settings, Medications, and tap Add reminder, or add a reminder in Settings, Reminders, and choose the medications it's about. Pills taken together need only one reminder. Under When, choose Not tied to the cycle, then a start date and how it repeats: once, every few days, weeks on chosen weekdays, or months, or On and off, like 21 days on and 7 off. You can add up to four times a day, and a last day.

On the notification, Taken ticks the medications in that day's log, and Snooze 15 min brings it back a bit later. With Remind again, it comes once more 30 minutes, 1 hour or 2 hours later, unless you've ticked them as taken by then.

If you hide the reminder text, the button says Done instead of Taken, so nothing on the lock screen shows it's about a medication. Some schedules are planned only part of the way ahead, since a phone allows a limited number of notifications: the app tells you when, and opening Vibe Days now and then keeps them coming.

Why does a reminder only say "Vibe Days reminder"?

So nothing about your cycle shows on your lock screen. If you'd rather see what the reminder is about, turn on Show reminder text under Settings, Reminders.

I'm not getting reminders. What can I do?

Check that notifications are allowed for Vibe Days in your phone's settings; the Reminders screen shows a button to open them if they're off. On Android, reminders can arrive several minutes late unless Vibe Days is allowed under Alarms & reminders; the Reminders screen offers this too.

Can I use the fertile window to avoid pregnancy?

No. The fertile window is an estimate, and so are all predictions. Don't use them to prevent pregnancy. The app doesn't give medical advice: if something about your cycle worries you, talk to a doctor.

I often forget to log when my period ends. Can the app do it?

Yes. In Settings, under Predictions, turn on End period automatically and choose how many days to wait (1 to 7, 2 by default). If you haven't logged the end by then, the app ends the period on its expected last day, based on your average period length, the next time you open it. If you logged flow after that day, the period runs to the last day with flow. The period is marked "ended automatically" in your cycle history, and you can change its last day at any time.

I logged a period on the wrong day. How do I fix it?

Open the Periods tab and tap the cycle, or tap one of its days in the calendar and choose Edit period. You can change the dates or delete the period.

Can I use dark mode?

Yes. By default the app follows your phone's appearance. To choose light or dark yourself, go to Settings, then Appearance.
